Nelspruit is the gateway to Mpumalanga and the famous Kruger National Park.

With its superb sub-tropical climate and copious sunshine together with lush covered hills and valleys it forms the ideal base to explore Mpumalanga from.

Fertile soils and an ideal subtropical climate provide perfect conditions to produce a multitude of fruits from citrus to tropical fruits, mainly mango, avocado, banana, macadamia and pecan nuts therefore making Nelspruit the trading centre for the surrounding fruit growing area of Mpumalanga. Halls estate is one of the largest subtropical fruit production farms in the area.

The lowveld botanical gardens just outside of the town boasts a rare collection of plant species and the first man-made rain forests.

Other attractions in the area are the nearby Sudwala caves, dinosaur park and cultural centre expose your senses to the primitive Africa.   Visit the crocodile farm as well as the ostrich farm. Beautiful hiking trails are near to Nelspruit and a 1-hour historical trail acquaints you with the architectural and cultural history of the town.
